The Environmental Issues Workshop Group of STS-AIChE holds a workshop prior to the monthly STS-AIChE dinner meeting.
The Environmental Issues Workshop Group of the AIChE South Texas Section covers environmental and regulatory issues pertaining to chemical engineering. Production in the chemicals / petrochemicals industry produces various byproducts. Proper management of these byproducts is our responsibility. Both the state and national government have various laws and policies for treatment, testing, and discharge.
The May 2008 workshop presentation on "How Good Is Our Bet on Biofuels?" given by Kyriacos Zygourakis, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Rice University, is available to download.
